Selborne Landscape Partnership

The Selborne Landscape Partnership was formed in 2014 and is centred around the village of Selborne. It operates across farmland surrounding Gilbert White’s historic home and covers an area of approximately 6,000ha . The Partnership has 29 members, including partner organisations such as: Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust (Noar Hill), the National Trust (Selborne Common & The Lythes), Gilbert White’s House & Museum, Chawton House & Park. 

Target species chosen by the group include: 

  • Harvest mouse 

  • Barn owl 

  • Lapwing 

  • Duke of Burgundy butterfly 

  • Brown hairstreak butterfly 

  • Yellowhammer 

  • Turtle Dove

Current projects include surveying for woodland bats, hanger woodland management and lapwing fencing.
