Candover Valley Farmers

Candover Valley Farmers is made of 16 farm business of over 8,000ha between Dummer and Alresford, Hampshire.  

Following the Candover Brook and beyond, the group’s main interest is peer-to-peer learning for sustainable and profitable food production, as well as engaging with local communities and enhancing the chalk landscape. 

Priorities of the group are: 

  • Working in collaboration and knowledge sharing to benefit soils, water, and biodiversity  

  • Protecting vulnerable species & habitats including hedgerows and woodlands 

  • Looking after the water quality of chalk aquifers and surface waters.  

  • Engagement with the public to improve understanding and support for farming 

Current projects include creating a connected wooded corridor across the group area, sharing farm crop trial results and increasing the quality and quantity of wildlife resources.
